Fountain pen fan and shaker upper!
@paradoxmo - question! Now that you have the penfount.social instance created, is there an advantage to creating(or migrating) an account over there?
@andrewscott Thank you! I first used this ink in a Platinum Fine nib and worried that it was too light for regular use. Then I tried the Coarse. 😁
Today’s #fountainpen - Opus 88 Jazz Demonstrator with a Platinum 3776 Coarse nib, inked up with Iroshizuku Yu-Yake, in a Midori MD journal.
@porter Miruai is such a lovely ink!
@NicoleJLeBoeuf If you’re set on using the Tabasco bottle and not using a syringe tool, you might try an Inkmiser inkwell. You could pour ink from the Tabasco bottle into that and fill accordingly.
@penfount My origin story: curiosity. I grew up with ballpoints and never heard of FPs. I felt fancy with my Pilot G2s and such for years (which I still appreciate). Ten years ago, I stumbled into fountain pens online. I bought a Lamy Safari and it blew me away. I still love that well-worn pen!
@penfount #fpquestion #fountainpen #fountainpens I’m more about matching ink to mood or situation. I’m in Ireland this week, so I went with inks that match the trip (MB Irish Green, for example) in pens that love to travel (e.g., Pilot 823).
@paradoxmo @oliveoctopus Chiming in on this as a Safari was my first FP. I’ve had 10+ nibs and every nib wrote properly without adjustment. What may be frustrating is their nib tolerances, which have a small amount of overlap between sizes. My first Safari has taken a beating over the past 10 years, still works great, and the triangle grip helped me learn to hold a pen in a more comfortable way.
@gentlemanstationer Not going to enter since I have quite a few of their inks already and don’t need a stand - but love that you’re doing this.
