Mam do was, konkretnie do tych spośród was którzy nie chcą iść głosować w drugiej turze wyborów prezydenckich, bo nie odpowiada wam żaden z zaproponowanych kandydatów, jedną prośbę. Zanim postanowicie tę niedzielę przespać, spójrzcie na swoich przyjaciól ze Stanów Zjednoczonych. Czy są oni ostatecznie zadowoleni z tego, że wielu spośród nich pokazalo "moralną wyższość", nie głosując na "mniejsze zło"? Czy też może patrzą nerwowo na coraz to nowe decyzje i wypowiedzi ich prezydenta?

Wszystkie sondaże pokazują, że wygrać może którykolwiek kandydat. Różnica jest zasadniczo poniżej błędu statystycznego. Wszystko, nawet pogoda; każdy, nawet wy, może ostatecznie zmienić wynik tych wyborów.

Na stole opcje są tylko dwie. Któraś z nich musi wygrać, innej drogi nie ma. Ja już zdecydowałem. Mam nadzieję, że zrobicie to i wy.

I am so tired of companies believing their APP is the center of everyone's world. Get it into your heads: your app is a TOOL. Like a screwdriver. That, in this particular case, I would like to use to adjust levels of my microphone interface.

I don't want a "better experience", and I don't care about your "new app". You are overhead. Cost. Drag.

Watching Microsoft’s robots telling Microsoft’s other robots that they need to agree to Microsoft CLAs in between Microsoft’s developers begging Microsoft’s robots to actually understand the problems they’re trying to fix in Microsoft's platform code on Microsoft's version-control website is kind of amazing.

It is 7 AM CEST. The EU citizen initiative calling for a ban on "conversion therapy" (here meaning, pseudoscientific attempts to "cure" LGBTQs) is less than 250,000 votes from success. This is astounding, the votes have like, *tripled* in a week.

The page says voting ends "May 17", and I wish I knew if that meant "at midnight tonight" or "midnight tomorrow" or what. Uh. Do you know

Germany is ~6,000 local votes from endorsing it. Are there 6,000 Germans on this website

The EU citizen initiative petitioning the European Parliament to outlaw "conversion therapy" ("curing" LGBTs via torture) has met its threshold (1M votes and 8 countries supporting).

One week ago I sincerely thought y'all wouldn't make it. Amazing work Europe (and hi5 Germany, now country 8).

This is an incredible statement at a time the US/UK govt are forcing conversion (medical detransition) for trans minors.

UPDATE: Nine. 9 countries. Sweden passed the threshold *while I was writing that last post*.

The "end of the collection period" is May 17 (so seven hours from now… plus 24 if the person who told me it's *EOD* May 17 is correct) so if you're an EU national you can still vote to run up the numbers and convince EU Parliament you're serious. Also:

- If 4,343 Italians sign, it's ten countries endorsing
- 5,308 Austrians makes it eleven
- 6,794 from Portugal makes it twelve

ANOTHER UPDATE: About three minutes ago on the website, France literally hit 1000% support for the anti-"Conversion Therapy" initiative. France really showed up here, with ten times the threshold support FR is literally half the supporters on this initiative. Apparently the people of France really, REALLY don't want their trans friends medically tortured

There are ~7 hours left in the EU citizens initiative ( https://eci.ec.europa.eu/043/public/#/screen/home ) asking the EU parliament to ban "conversion therapy" (pseudo-medical efforts to "cure" queers). It's at 1.2 million votes over 1 million; surplus votes are good because some votes may be disqualified, so EU nationals, it's still worth voting!

One thing I notice, it looks like DENMARK and CROATIA are *so* close to passing— under 1000 votes each. Does anyone here know how to inject a message in the Danish internet?

@mcc And Italy hit the threshold as well now. So it’s now nine countries. And it’s a good chunk above the required million votes. If this keeps up and there are indeed 24 more hours to go, this initiative might hit 2 million votes.

@mcc people underestimate how strong La France Insoumise, our radical left party, is. There was a massive communication to help with this initiative, and we delivered.

@kodr @mcc now we are at 1200% which is really great, but on the other hand its depressingly low (500000 or smth) incomparison to the number of french people, I would hope they simply have not seen the petition, but with all the far right morons there is still some way to go.

@mcc tbf it's not over yet, since there need to be 1 million *valid* signatures, and the validation happens later. Some number will be invalidated, which means that more are likely still necessary. We should keep going until the very end and push well past 1 mil (I guess past 1 mil 20k last I checked).

@worr The webpage emphasizes this is online signatures. Will there be additional signatures collected through a separate process offline?

@mcc I don't think so, what I meant is that they go through and invalidate signatures that appear fraudulent for whatever reason.
