@piegames I stopped watching years ago after thinking "this is just going nowhere, isn't it"

I'm glad he's having fun though

@TodePond actually is there something like github for designs? a place where people can publish their designs in a way that lets others **easily** fork and collaborate on them, but not in the form of code

this could potentially lower the barrier of entry

@TodePond the [just] is strong with the foss
writing code should not be the primary way of contributing to free open source software
@TodePond 1000x this
free open source software needs fewer engineers and more designers and product people

I was wondering what would happen if you played Newton Wars (aka Gravitational Combat), but had a full visualization showing you which target/planet you would hit when shooting in that direction with that force!

So I wrote a #glsl shader to figure that out, and it's really pretty!

This is how it works: If you hover over a red pixel in the diagram, you can be sure you'll hit the red planet! The lightness is how soon you'll hit it.

I've had a theory for a few years that most software engineers don't actually like software engineering. Had there not been money in it they would have followed a different career path instead of getting a CS degree from a 4-year college (or boot camps).

LLMs align with this theory. The people who are excited that something else is doing their job for them are the same people who picked the job for the salary, not the joy.
