Ryan Davis' Résumé | |

One of these days I'll be able to call it a curriculum vitae!

Whew, took me a little while to get back to y’all, but I’m so excited to announce my next chapter: taming software deployment through my new company, Miren! It’s gonna be a big project, so I’m thrilled to start with support from BlueYard Capital and Union Square Ventures, enabling us to bring human-centric workflows to a complex domain.

The Start of Something Special

<taps mic> Hey everyone, I’ve got some exciting news to share! After years of dealing with janky dev setups, broken tests, and brittle deployment platforms, I’ve decided to do something about it. We’re calling it Miren, and the vision is to rethink how software is developed, deployed, and managed.</taps>

To all my HashiCorporeals, it’s been a pleasure and a privilege to work with you. You are what made my years at HashiCorp so special for me. Know that the friendships we have forged will endure!
After 8+ years, today is my last day at HashiCorp. All those years ago, Mitchell and Armon took a chance on me and my team, and I can’t thank them enough for doing so. Looking ahead, I’m eager to get back to my roots with something already brewing that I’ll be ready to share with you in the next few weeks!
@drbrain @veganstraightedge @adarsh I emailed Tom, who did all the original admin work. He'll know.
@veganstraightedge @adarsh Or… we did. I’ll poke around
@veganstraightedge @adarsh Adarsh you do 🤪
@mattly Much like "Linux on the Desktop" it requires someone to take it as a big focus area on it and really own it. Otherwise it's just all over the place.
@mattly Gotcha gotcha. Yeah, the lack of attention spent on packaging and setup continues to plague us all. I’ve definitely been thinking about a more "app store" model as well. I think a lot of folks hoped Helm was it, but Helm hasn't solved this.
@mattly 👋🏻 I’m currently starting work on a thing to help solve a lot of these problems. What stuff are you running into? Overall complexity? Network access?
