I took all the domains from https://fediblock.neocities.org/ block list and put it in a csv file that can be imported so you can block all hateful instances. Download it [here](https://anonfiles.com/0088mcF8y8/blocked_domains_csv) ### How to import - go to settings - click on import & export - click on import - under import select domain blocking list - then select the csv file you downloaded - click upload **Boom** a friendly mastodon & fediverse experience :ablobsmilehappy:
Welcome to my #rebased account.
This is the first time Iโm using โrebasedโ, it is a fork of #Pleroma. I am liking the UI because of the familiarity and simple approach. This is good for those who are migrating from Twitter, and I will recommend this (specifically Public Garden instance, of course) to my network.
I also love the onboarding process, the most important part lacking in other #Fediverse platforms. It explained what the Fediverse is, and what the Federated Timeline is. I havenโt encountered though an explanation on how to add users from other servers (or I might have missed it because Iโm not new to the Fediverse).
Oh, and recommended users during the onboarding process is one useful plus. (I think Misskey and forks, as well as, Friendica and Hubzilla, have an upfront recommended users after signing up; I canโt quite rememberโฆ the problem with being familiar with the entire process, you start to ignore things.)
One more thing. The Public.Garden instance allows up to 5,000 characters, just like the C.IM (Mastodon) instance; while the hashi.icu (Misskey) instance have a whopping 300,000-character limit. (I have an account in C.IM and hashi.icu.)
500-character limit (most common), or anything less than 5,000 characters, is not enough in the Fediverse network where people regularly engage in fruitful discussions and Q&A. I guess that is whatโs called #macroblogging.
Having now been on #Mastodon for 1 month, a few observations:
- Mastodon makes me realize how much the #Twitter algorithm maximized user outrage to boost engagement for profit. Gross. Here, my feed is interesting & supportive.
- There's a culture of kindness - at least so far. It's extremely appealing & should be normalized on & offline.
- Beyond reactions to toots, people share songs, poetry & ask great questions. I can't remember the last time I found social media to be fun.
NOTE: If anyone wants to be added to this list just let me know.
Ok so this seems to be most of the people who publicly stated they had interest in developing the "United Federation of Instances". All of you should have gotten the first draft and opinions were heard and discussed.
Today I will be moving the first draft over to git (either git.qoto.org or gitlab.com). From there I will encourage each of you to provide suggestions as to edits there, and raise discussions in issues. This way we will be public and have an open transparent forum that keeps the changes on record.
While public feedback is being debated on the proposal I will begin a rough draft on the complete by laws (which will try to represent the broader points in the proposal document). That too will be on gitlab and open to discussion
From there as the movement grows we can begin discussing launching it.
I suggest all communication on the fediverse about this use the #UFI hashtag so it is easily searchable.
Since this is a public post I will now share the link to the early draft here, please keep in mind everything here is open for discussion so if anyone doesnt like the current direction, please speak up, we want you to be heard.
