I apologize if you keep seeing new follow notifications from me. I'm still exploring lots of platforms for both ActivityPub (Mastodon, Pixelfed, etc) and BlueSky. Some let me use my already existing credentials and some do not. I'm trying to keep my follow lists mostly the same on all of them right now - thus the multiple follows.
For my longtime friends following along and still trying to figure out Social Media 2.0:
I'm pretty happy with two so far. Friendica and Wafrn. They BOTH handle Mastodon AND Bluesky. Neither have the 300 / 500 character limits. Friendica is the most Facebook-like so far and Wafrn is a lot like old Tumblr.
Friendica is probably not yet ready for "prime time". It can be slow at times and prone to timeouts when loading pages. (I mean Facebook can do that too sometimes). But for me, it most closely fills the Facebook void. It is what is always up on my computer and most of the posts you've read from me on bluesky have been made from it for the last couple months.
Wafrn is fun and silly much like old Tumblr (I've been on Tumblr since the early days). I'd recommend it to any of my friends that have not yet set up a Bluesky account. You can turn on Bluesky in the settings which gives you a "new" Bluesky using the Wafrn domain. The default is ActivityPub (Mastodon). It is fast. The interface is simple and things are mostly as you expect. You don't really have any control over the feed settings - I think it is set to "Recent Activity". I'd eventually like some basic controls over the feed. I prefer "Recent Posts" to "Recent Activity". But that is not a deal breaker for me. It has gained my eyeballs the second-most. Usually have it open in a tab alongside Friendica.

Sort of a test post. I want to see how well #wafrn does with long text posts on both #Bluesky and #Mastodon
I think I have about 10 accounts now on various platforms - I'm calling Social Media 3.0. So far, I have 2 favorites. #Friendica has been my top pick for a couple months now. It integrates with about every platform available. #Bluesky, #Mastodon, #RSS, and on some servers #Tumblr, and #WordPress. I love having everything in a single feed. BUT… it has some negatives as well. It can be glitchy, slow, prone to crashes. Still, it is in development yet - so time will tell.
My newest favorite is #WAFRN. Not nearly as feature rich, but also straddles the #Bluesky / #Mastodon protocols. It is clean, smooth, simple to use. It is modeled after old #Tumblr but does not offer current #Tumblr integration. And to use #Bluesky, it creates a new account for you rather than logging in to your existing account. It is also still under development and I like the path it is on.
Anyway… it is an exciting time in the new Social Media!

Can now turn a WordPress site/blog into a Fediverse "account". I will test this with my own, but eyeing the Baronial web page to provide a non-Facebook way to "follow" it!

Didn't get my blog post part 2 done in time for #techTuesday so I'll post this instead. It ties in! There are new projects being developed for BlueSky. Excited to see what develops.
