@scalzi It's fine, I guess, but it seems like every sunset I see you post is of a G-type main sequence star, and it's getting a little repetitive.
Come to think of it, a lot of them look like they might even be the *same* star.
I really like the vegetation, though.
@Cosmonaut_Collin It *did* see a debut on the big screen, but it was in limited theaters.
As far as what executives want, I'm pretty it's to keep their jobs and get massive bonuses, and those goals are achieved by being perceived as being the reasons for making money and NOT the reasons for losing money.
Selling Nimona to Netflix was clearly a miss in that respect, and if the guy likely responsible weren't already sacked, he probably would be soon.
I get that Disney is skittish when it comes to controversy, but I honestly think if they'd released Nimona in theaters with the right marketing campaign they'd have a banked a billion dollars and launched a major franchise.
Kids are going to love that character. She's like a better version of Deadpool wreaking havoc in an upright fantasy world... And she's the same age as the target demographic. Whoever flinched at the idea of releasing that movie cost the studio a fortune.
@chuckwendig Once I was cutting an everything bagel with a serrated bread knife. I was being extremely careful, but my hand slipped and I cut myself on the bagel.
Not the knife, mind you. I cut my thumb on the bagel and bled all over the place.
@greenback @adamlancegarcia I'm not at all certain whether he's pushing an agenda or simply trying to manipulate right-wingers into investing in his venture by tossing them scraps.
Guess it's kind of academic either way: this almost certainly ends with the destruction of Twitter, which is a pretty big loss in and of itself (at least until a viable worldwide replacement takes over).
@adamlancegarcia Maybe? If he was gambling on the purge/blue expansion generating a massive amount of revenue to replace lost advertisers, he just learned it ain't happening. Which means the company's value plummeted (again).
At this point, he can either sell for pennies on the dollar or run it into the ground. He might be doing the latter out of spite, and - if so - opening the door to a class-action lawsuit might speed things up.
