I get that Disney is skittish when it comes to controversy, but I honestly think if they'd released Nimona in theaters with the right marketing campaign they'd have a banked a billion dollars and launched a major franchise.

Kids are going to love that character. She's like a better version of Deadpool wreaking havoc in an upright fantasy world... And she's the same age as the target demographic. Whoever flinched at the idea of releasing that movie cost the studio a fortune.

@erinlsnyder The only thing executives want these days is total control, wealth from the masses, and a hot cup of Pilk. Hopefully Nimona can see a debut on the big screen. Or even a well written series on Disney+ if it must come to that. #Disney #PILK #Pepsi #Milk

@Cosmonaut_Collin It *did* see a debut on the big screen, but it was in limited theaters.

As far as what executives want, I'm pretty it's to keep their jobs and get massive bonuses, and those goals are achieved by being perceived as being the reasons for making money and NOT the reasons for losing money.

Selling Nimona to Netflix was clearly a miss in that respect, and if the guy likely responsible weren't already sacked, he probably would be soon.
