If you'd given me six guesses as to the number of Guardians who would die in Vol 3, I'd have given you six wrong answers.

I get that Disney is skittish when it comes to controversy, but I honestly think if they'd released Nimona in theaters with the right marketing campaign they'd have a banked a billion dollars and launched a major franchise.

Kids are going to love that character. She's like a better version of Deadpool wreaking havoc in an upright fantasy world... And she's the same age as the target demographic. Whoever flinched at the idea of releasing that movie cost the studio a fortune.

Watching Nimona, an Oscar calibur movie a major studio came a hair's breadth from writing off, makes me angry about Batgirl all over again.
Here are some quick reviews of the season finales (and associated seasons) for three shows that just wrapped up for the year: http://welcometothemiddleroom.blogspot.com/2023/04/finale-frontier-extravaganza.html
Finale Frontier Extravaganza!

This week brought us three season finales for three separate space-related series in genre franchises comprising the past, present, and futu...

As a professional writer, I am avoiding any and all use of ChatGPT. First, because that stuff is trash. Second, because it's non-copyrightable and very possibly full of plagiarized material and could undermine my own rights over my own work if I used it. Third, because I'm a damn writer, and I'm here to write, not to prompt a machine to generate bullshit for me. Fourth, see first.

Here's a bunch of mini-reviews of all the franchise installments I watched since the last time I remembered to post one of these. They're not ranked, but - in case anyone's curious - my two favorites here are Glass and Snake Eyes (seriously). http://welcometothemiddleroom.blogspot.com/2023/02/catch-up-part-11-sequels-prequels.html
Catch-Up, Part 11: Sequels, Prequels, Reboots, and Spin-Offs

For those just joining us, this series is where I catch up on all the movies I'm not reviewing as they're released for various reasons. Ever...

I am fuming. So many idiotic, willfully ignorant a-holes who don't know the first thing about what they're talking about just jumping in to offer their non-expert opinion on this topic. Fuck these people.
