I'm considering removing my account from alpha.polymaths.social

Is it possible for me to export data associated with my account?

Fail
Polymaths.Social has polls

Stop. Recommending. Tiny. Random. Linux. Distros.

Please. It's a never ending source of support issues. Especially for newer users. Get them onto something easy like Ubuntu.

A question came up in the community about how to learn something when you don't really want to learn it. Put another way, how do we focus on the not-so-fun requirements for our success, as opposed to just the parts we enjoy?

It's a tricky question, and one that modern education ill-prepares us to answer on our own. Away from grades, from parents, from any kind of external pressure, we have only our will and discipline to rely on.

Or...do we?

There is a secret to learning the stuff we don't like as much. It's doing the learning
together. Socialization is the key to transforming required learning into desired learning. When you learn alongside peers to discuss, share, and commiserate with, then engaging with the materials takes on new value and importance. You study to be part of the group, and aid in your peers' success.

It can be hard to remember across the gleaming gulf of a screen, but we are still social animals at heart. Connecting with others tends to make all kinds of drudgery bearable—even enjoyable.

This is true even for extreme introverts like myself. How's that work? By focusing on a specific topic or objective, social learning removes much of the awkwardness and friction experienced by introverts in unstructured social settings. One can focus on the task at hand, while still appreciating the company.

So if you're dreading a topic of study, I urge you to find a peer group with whom you can study, struggle, and celebrate. It makes all the difference.
Hey! You're doing great! Keep it up.

I'm looking for several tools to help me migrate and split up my interests on ActivityPub services between existing accounts which are already populated in some way with following and followed by lists and followed tags and the like.

I'm looking for something that can help with moving many of the accounts on my following list to a different account.

I'm looking for a tool that can migrate many of my followed by accounts to a new account.

I'm looking for a tool which can delete many of my posts on certain accounts. Both in a convenient manual process and on an automated basis guided by some configuration options like age of post or "not bookmarked" etc.

I'm looking for a tool that can help with moving some of my categorized lists from one account to another.

I expect that a single tool wouldn't help with all of the above, using multiple tools would be fine.

Can’t believe they’re going to roll 2024 out to Production late on a Sunday, right before a public holiday, without testing it in Staging, and without fixing any of the bugs in 2023.

Hi everyone 👋
I find a lot of things interesting like computer science and biology (especially microbiology) and look forward to studying them more in college. I enjoy cooking and baking, though I'm not very good at cooking . I like origami and modular origami is my favorite, I think the process a lot more fun. I also play taiko drums. I use Linux, and after a bit of a journey I decided on openSUSE with KDE (for now haha).

Also, in case it isn't obvious, I like red pandas.
