i guess...the prevailing view of socialization is that it's about how you're perceived.

of course that plays in, but i'd argue a larger part is how you perceive yourself.

trans people frequently perceive ourselves as *somehow* differently gendered than the cis folks around us, even if we have yet to understand ourselves in a clear manner that can be mapped to the binary.

it can also be about your social circles too.

so we're gonna pick up some severely mixed messages!
