I remember when I was doing #iOS apps that some contractors didn't even have *any* Apple hardware to test their apps on.
As I'm starting the #fastai course it seems the situation is somewhat similar: #MachineLearning gear is expensive, renting #cloud #gpu is not cheap either.
There are some one-time-only free credits from #Google and #AWS but not for everybody (or it might have expired).
Speaking of modern requirements: #MachineLearning course expects desktop-class nVidia GPU with 4GB of VRAM.
I first trained #neural #networks on single core CPUs with < 1GB RAM. I also trained NNs on a phone!
Not that I mind building another machine, but... no need to summon Skynet in class, just tell me the basics :-)
