@michellemoldofsky also I don't appreciate the unsolicited advice about how to ask a goddamn question, like I'm a child. I just think in this situation the onus is on the person visiting to offer a meet up if they want to, since they were making plans long before they even got here. Or to specifically say, "hey I'd love to see you but unfortunately I don't have time during this trip" - that would also be a more friendly response than the one I got.
