I was scandalized when I learned of Nir Eyal's book, Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products. I had to wonder about the apparent moral and ethical bankruptcy that could even allow such a manual to be published without any apparent sense of shame. I went looking for critical reviews; happy to have found them. I'll just add that if you read Eyal's book, please follow it up with something like Cal Newport's Digital Minimalism for a dose of critical perspective.
