As I headed to Europe (my first international trip in almost a quarter century) for the big degrowth conference, NYTimes published an essentially positive article on the topic. As I prepared to return home, WaPo published a negative opinion piece. If you'd asked me a month ago, I would have said degrowth was still largely unknown in the States and ignored by our media. Clearly, that is changing
It was powerful to bear witness and stand in solidarity with an array of eco-activists local to Galicia as they took the stage and shared their manifestos, as the moon rose over Alameda de Pontevedra, on Global Degrowth Day, with a crowd from the 10th Degrowth Conference. The most visually striking was Extinction Rebellion https://youtu.be/15g5O9ej03c XR Galiza, I think? But they were all amazing and righteous and inspiring.
I’m beyond thrilled, pumped, excited, and delighted, to announce the premiere of a new radio series.
We’re calling it the Earth Eclectic radio hour. My co-conspirator Laura Dedelow and I have been working on this production for well over a year. We’ve kept after it through many challenges because we feel the world needs to hear this. 1/
