4. Some servers allow their users to increase the default number of characters for individual toots. This functionality is server dependent (😢 not available on mine).

My most recent #newbie discovery (#tip) - creating a #thread
1. The length of a single toot depends on your server. I recently saw a Fediverse toot >1.5K characters. Damn!, mine is limited to 500. 😀
2. Posting sequential, individual toots will appear disjointed on everyone else's timelines since each person follows a different number of people.
3. Instead, create a conversation with yourself by replying to the first post of your thread.

Just a big Thank You to all those using image descriptions here and a reminder to those who haven't started doing this yet to please do so.
Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who are blind or visually impaired here, and we really appreciate you describing your images.
For me, this is important because I can't recognize faces or facial expressions well, and sometimes I can't tell what's going on in a photo with too much chaos or too much detail. Please feel free to ask quetions about that.

I took this photo at the start of the Golden Eagle #Festival, Altai Mountains, outside Bayan-Ulgii, Mongolia ~100 miles where the borders of #Mongolia, Kazakhstan, China and Russia almost intersect.
One of the most amazing spectacles I’ve witnessed. Thankful to be there for its 20th anniversary and during unseasonably sunny weather. A month later, the pandemic was brewing and about to unleash itself.
