@dylanmalone Back in the 80’s at Apple, I was asked to write an app to let developers play with the text to speech on the Macintosh. I put something together that let you play with the settings, make presets, etc. I got it to do a fair imitation of Julia Childs. It pronounced “doughnut” as “duffnut.” But I think there were ways to make it do right with some control characters. My Inside Macintosh is now buried in a closet, so may be wrong about that.

I'm not sure the best way to get indie #iOS #mlx #ml noticed on Mastodon. I've horribly neglected the platform, even though so many of my dev friends and heroes (looking at you @atpfm ) wisely came here long ago.
