Without proof of another life, without the promise of paradise with no pain and no strife, we should strive while alive for a heaven here on earth, the one life we can prove, so the only life of worth.

"Which song are ye yearning it be, the first songs, of searching and finding, of whipping winds and sun a'blinding, or the torrid tales of travels and travails, of sunk ships and ghostly gales?"

"Nay, sing us the one where the sea is free. When the sea no longer knows you nor me."

So I sang them the last song of the sea.
