Marx didn't mock religion. He diagnosed it. Pain relief for a world that inflicts real pain. The harder question: what replaces it when the pain doesn't stop?

A wee write-up on the last week before I go back to the data entry mines. I have been making a ton of errors out of exhaustion lately, but the end of the super busy spell is nigh.
On the other side of this conference, things will get easier, I hope.🤞

Transcendence is real data that secular thought keeps misfiling as 'pleasant illusion.' Bruce Ledewitz via @bledewitz.bsky.social makes the case we need a better theory.
Indifference is a silent form of injustice: not open violence but distance, disinterest, moral fatigue. To see the other without reducing them to a statistic is already an act. «Conscience in the face of indifference». #HumanDignity #Humanism #WhiteRose

The simple goes unseen, the daily greeting unmade, presence unvalued. One generation trapped in appearances; another, treated as foreign. «Longing for a truer feeling». How do we build the bridges? #Humanism #Literature #HumanDignity

There is no magic.
Maybe don't bombard a 3-year-old, with this.
But, anyone over the age of ~30?
Stop being a gullible, credulous, religious member of my species, and maybe start trusting the evolved jello, from whence you can remember to wipe your ass.
There is not, and has never been, any evidence that what you are seeking, actually even exists.
And, in 2026, we're even more sure that this is the case.
We're not trying to yuck your yum - we're just pointing out how yuck your yum has been.
For centuries.
Belief in religion requires an innate rejection doctrine.
You are less, unless, you have less money in your pocket, and we have that money.
Then, you are more Jesus-y, in your abject poverty. As long as we created your poverty, at which point, we control you.
Don't fret. We'll take care of your money.
Oh, and Jesus will heal your child's cancer. Unless your child is a sinner. Or, you are. Or, anyone you've ever known has sinned.
Otherwise, Jesus loves your child, and you get a Disney FastPass.
Just Wiki, "Indulgences". It has been a grift, from 0 BCE.
How fucking sick is religion?
