How can I stay safe during the holidays?

Dear Pandemic
#introduction time!
I look at the health consequences of period shocks (e.g., public health crises) & how these shocks exacerbate or equalize existing health inequalities. I’m interested in #mortality, #fertility, and #birthoutcomes.
Currently work as a #postdoc on Jenn Dowd's ERC grant (MORTAL) and in Sept 2023 will start my Marie Curie Fellowship on HealthShocks (Population Health & Period Shocks)! Both w/ the excellent team at the #LCDS at Oxford.

@ikashnitsky Still learning the ropes but feel like a kid happy to finally arrive at the party!

Since October 2022, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), University of Oxford & UKHSA have been conducting a pilot study to determine whether their COVID-19 Infection Survey could be used to monitor other respiratory infections (e.g. #influenza & #RSV) in the private residential population.

An ONS post explains:
▶️ why the pilot was initiated
▶️ explores the focus of the analysis
▶️ shares plans for publishing the data

#Introduction I hope to understand why some individuals & populations live longer & healthier lives than others.

I like to bridge disciplines- I've trained in #demography, #economics & #epidemiology, & now sit in a Dept. of #sociology. I'm interested in incoroporating #biomarkers into social & population research, especially markers of #immunity #infection, & #microbiome.

I was drafted into #scicomm during #covid19 w/ Dear Pandemic/Those Nerdy Girls.

Happy to be here!
