iPhone 17e: hands-on with Apple's $599 premium budget iPhone | AppleVis

Apple’s iPhone 17e was released yesterday, bringing the power of a modern iPhone to the masses at an affordable price. Apple kindly sent me an iPhone 17e for review, and I’ve spent a little over a day with the device. Below are some very early initial impressions:

I'm still waiting for a telegram code so I can log in.

Terminal Access 1.0.51 released with even more simplified shortcuts such as for adding and reading bookmarks, more terminals supported including additional TUI profiles such as for apps like Claude Cli, code improvements for better performance, attempts at crushing persistent bugs like reading "blank" after pressing enter, and more. Read the documentation.

I'll make updates based on feedback since I believe I'm done with features for now.

Wow! I just installed the latest testflight beta of SpeechBox and I'm certainly impressed. I had to slow it down to around 60% or so until I get used to it. I love the work being put into this. Give it a spin from https://testflight.apple.com/join/jvvGY6Fz TGSpeechBox

Using TestFlight is a great way to help developers test beta versions of their apps.

Good morning all,

I was listening to the latest Access On podcast using Castro and thought you could skip through the episode by chapter. For the life of me I thought there was a skip forward by chapter above the skip forward by time button. Has Castro changed something in their latest release? I can't find this no matter where I look.

Paperback on Mac is beginning to actually come together! Today's work so far has been remapping some keyboard shortcuts to be more Mac friendly, making the open dialog only show supported files, and making the window function properly by making it into an app bundle! more updates soon, 0.8.0 will hopefully have full Mac support!
Just taking a look at Fedra. Wow! this client is small in size. Only 9629 KB.
🎉 Big NV Speech Player update just dropped!
Hybrid glottal source - Finally fixed the "breathy" voice quality at 16000 Hz and above! The synth now picks the right waveform per sample rate: smooth cosine at low rates (no aliasing), LF-inspired buzz at 16kHz+ (that Eloquence-like crispness).
VoicingTone v2 - 3 new DSP params:
• Noise glottal modulation (Klatt-style pulsing)
• Pitch-sync F1/B1 modulation (vocal tract coupling)
All with backward-compatible version detection so old drivers keep working.
Phoneme Editor - Full voicing params UI! 10 sliders, per-voice storage, auto-loads when you switch voices. Plus 3-tier DLL fallback for older builds.
NVDA Addon - New voicing sliders in synth settings ring. Tweak brightness, tilt, crispness per-voice.
Linux builds - Fresh x86_64 .so files included.
This was a marathon session - glottal waveforms, struct versioning, crash fixes, UI work... mass refresh across the whole stack.

Does anyone know how to open Zoom's .vtt files. I have a recording transcript and would love to read it. It would certainly save a lot of listening.
