Feel a little like I’m sat in a car stopped on a motorway at the moment, just waiting for the next vehicle to crash into me.

It is here! I can trace my first lines of code to at least 2018 😅, when I wanted to build a cool game for the Apple Watch. It seems I needed a little push to put it out there. Hope you like it!

Available on the App Store! Free to play for 6 games a day. And you can get unlimited plays for just 0.99 with the code ARCTICCONF.

I’m so close to just burning all my social media accounts. This version of the digital world is too full of crap.

“In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.”

5.1tn annual music streams… but 120.5m tracks had 10 or fewer

Music-biz number-cruncher Luminate has published its year-end report for 2025, with plenty of stats for the industry to chew over.

Just a reminder that, even if life looks a bit like this to you at the moment despite the positivity of a new year starting, Spring and Summer are on their way.
The number of times I nearly mistype something like “Poor heading structure” in an accessibility audit and wish I’d set up more corrective text replacements…
James (@wearejames) songs are my near permanent soundtrack at the moment. I’ve grown to really love Tim Booth’s sometimes weird but wonderful lyrics, their musical diversity, their songs’ messages. Just listen to Sound as an example – that crescendo!

I’m trying to decide if socials are a lifeline or a drain for me. As someone who has lived online with distant friends since I was a teen, I find great connection through online channels. And I think I have a healthy mentality towards more open social channels. But 2025 was very hard, and I wonder if a break from here will help or hinder recovery.

We've been reflecting on our last People Planet Pint of 2025 that we hosted in Weston-super-Mare a couple of weeks ago

It was another great evening hosting faces familiar and new. Conversations meandered naturally around various topics both local and afar. In particular, we discussed two interesting topics:

Firstly, there's the new Bath Digital Divide Coalition being convened by Bath Bridge and Tech4Good South West:
