Because @discordjack and I just played the new Looney Tunes Mayhem board game, I’ve been on a WB lore kick. And wouldntcha know it? I found another #CutthroatCompound. In a 1945 cartoon, Bugs dresses up in a long beard as DR. KILLPATIENT to further befuddle Elmer into thinking he has Rabbititis. (The name built from the fictional Dr Kildare from the NBC show?) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hare_Tonic

I buy where I can, but Roulette-Taking Game seems to be absolutely nowhere to be found even checking with my very reliable contacts for Asian games so I homebrewed a copy. Very excited to try this! #BoardGames
@cordeliane The pacing really stuttered as we looked up clarifications. But once you get though the learning game, it seems like it would smooth out and reward repeat play with the same group — not something that's my style, but I know that could definitely work for others.
@cordeliane It's a very advanced trick-taker — we had a perfect 4p count for our game. Three of us are trick-taking veterans and one of us was relatively familiar with the genre. That less experienced player (more experienced than average) still didn't have a great time because the strategy was too opaque. Some of the treasure cards were frustratingly ambiguous too. Given that the sweet spot is specifically 4 equally experienced players, it's something I'd play but not own.
@emmahunneyball Just lucky enough to find a generously sized rental house for a reasonable price in my area. I'm trying to get my next cull shipped out and whittle it down to something more manageable though. Even with the space, the shelves are just a bit beyond capacity.
@gpage Each objective scores separately, so you have to figure out in real time the balance of maximizing points for each objective, just making something legal so you can finish first and start the ~ 2m timer on the table to squeeze the other players, and figuring out how much more you can afford to optimize if someone else has decided to move quickly and start the timer.
@gpage Hah, only bad short term memory (and possibly Mastodon's character limit 😅). That's also a keeper. It's a super quick real-time tile-laying game where everyone has the same double-sided set of 9 tiles with various features. Roads have to lead out of town and can't dead end. Each round everyone sees 3 public objectives and you have to create a legal 3x3 town that best fulfills them (and speed breaks ties). Once someone finishes, they start a ~2m timer for the table. Fun.
@emmahunneyball My spreadsheet is telling me I'm hovering around 900 total 😬
@emmahunneyball 271 unplayed (I'm also counting games that I got expansions for and/or upgrades and/or new editions)
Also Oceans technically shouldn't count since what would put it on the Shame list is the upcoming Kickstarter expansion which has not released yet, so 271 if I'm being honest. 😞
