Perhaps unsurprisingly, after 35+ years of computering the same old "issues" with open source are still around.
This Capitalist idea that you take something which is free and then place demands upon it is remarkable. It is probably of the of the purest "hard Capitalist" concepts along with slavery and pay per piece with no guarantees or protections whatsoever.
The entitlement with which people attack open source maintainers for, er, not maintaining a project to the level they require or, worse, deciding to stop maintaining a project on which they are critically dependent is incredible.
Are you paying the maintainer? Do you have a contract with them? No? Then it is exquisitely a "your problem" problem...
