This is a big one guys. What is purity culture? It's referenced a lot, but I think a lot of you don't know what it is.
In short, purity culture is when people take many nuanced situations and try to divide them into black and white categories. There's the Good category and the Bad category. The problem is, life is not in black and white. You can't put a neat line down the middle between good and bad.

Is it enough? Not nearly enough.
Is it sad that the impetus is an emboldened, partisan, reactionary SCOTUS that is hellbent on unraveling modern jurisprudence? Uh, yeah.
Am I incredibly grateful the Respect for Marriage Act offers concrete federal protections for queer people and seems to be getting through a completely dysfunctional Congress with apparent bipartisan support?

Dan Wentzel 🏳️🌈Having lived through the anger and despair of DOMA passing during the heights of the AIDS crisis, and the gut punch of Prop. 8 passing even though President Obama was getting elected, I have to say I am very moved. We've come a long way. Thank you for everyone who supports and voted for marriage equality in and out of Congress. The work continues to codify Obergefell and pass the Equality Act.
