I'm suspicious of news articles reporting that 'scifi fans rejoice over Megalopolis release date' and you should be, too.

#reddit tells the mods that if they want to stay closed, the users will have to vote on it. Users vote to stay closed and then Reddit says they have to open up anyway.

I’m going to make myself perfectly clear. I’m not the problem here. Me wanting a #fediverse that is open to everyone as long as they aren’t conducting themselves in harmful manners isn’t wrong. People shouldn’t have to conform to the fediverse. The fediverse was made up by various people from all over. The fediverse should be flexible and versatile. Something for everyone. It’s not real freedom when being told to get away from Big Social but you have users telling you how to be within the Fediverse. There should be opt-in/opt-out experiences. As long as transparent & not harmful instances should be able to provide for themselves as they see fit, without backlash. Who are you to tell anyone how to keep their lights on? This gatekeeping & HOA attitude also has to stop, it creates an unsafe environment. It’s sad when people choose to go back to Big Social b/c at least they have safety in using the platform how they see fit. They shouldn’t have to be the product of predatory practices b/c of jerk behaviour from members of the Fediverse. This place is evolving irrespective to those that don’t like it. #mastodon #calckey #lemmy #kbin

All of you #lemmy #fediverse users on #apple #ios hardware: the latest version of #mlem is actually decent and useable! It was released over the weekend, so check it out if you haven’t.

It’s super exciting to see it develop so fast! Especially right now, at the moment that it’s needed the most.
