Does anyone else need to do something else passive like Teamfight Tactics or League of Legends to focus on writing?

My brain is always hyperactive and TFT takes care of the excess brain energy so I can actually focus on writing.

Let's talk about tropes we dislike.

The Mary Sue (of any gender). If a protagonist is already perfect, there’s nowhere you can take them from there. There’s no growth, no stakes. In the same vein, “chosen one” stories are just boringly predictable.

I’m always rooting for the underdogs. Characters who aren’t necessarily extraordinary, but who succeed through grit & hard work (and a bit of luck because, let’s get real, we all need luck)

How do you fit writing into your schedule?

Sometimes, I set a goal to hit or exceed the word count. If I can’t do that, I set a goal to at least write something every day.
Sometimes I just write little snippets that go nowhere just to keep up the practice.
