@xyno @4censord yes, horrible idea, but nicer to use than Samba. I used it to offer some storage to another host for data recovery purposes (an idea as horrible as it sounds — but it worked)

@tobi nixOS hat relativ harte Defaults was systemd service hardening angeht. Ggf. mal per systemctl cat service schauen, was da so aktiv ist, das macht manchmal Probleme. Afaik hat modernes systemd auch ne Funktion um ne Shell im Kontext eines Servixes zu bekommen.

@klausman @Daojoan low tech version for people without version control: Another file to cut and paste to. Your darlings are safe, just somewhere else. My girlfriend taught me that one rather sneakily while helping me to revise an article.
I think it was easier for me to cut and paste because it avoids the backspace key removing one’s hard work.

@Daojoan Germany‘s civil code is roughly 100 years old. The USA‘s „equivalent“ is of a similar vintage. Before that there were different systems with varying failure modes.
Also a lot of the „fast“ is straight up illegal (e.g. illegal taxi/hotel etc). There are rules and regulations for them, just not enforced because of 50 years of „enforcement bad“ public relations.

@q not necessarily yearly but periodic checkups at your local beeper mechanic are recommended.
At least do a virus signature database update for tetanus every 10 years for long-term beeper enjoyment. Also check if your beeper is appropriately up to date according to the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute recommendations if you acquire a new one. Check special conditions, e.g HPV signature installs might be available under warranty with special procedure.
