The power went out at 4:45 AM in parts of the East Riverside-Oltorf neighborhood in Austin. Apparently outages to 50,000 customers around Austin are localized, presumably caused by ice.

As someone who is hard of hearing, unintelligible speech on TV and film is a pet peeve of mine. And it’s not just on the screen, it’s also a problem on the stage, even on Broadway.
It starts with the actor and, as an actor, it’s something I strive to improve at: “natural” speech that is intelligible.
