Today is just another day waiting for Threads to federate.

Here's @zoeschiffer interviewing Mastodon founder @Gargron on the state of the platform and its relationship with Meta. He says he thinks two-way federation between Threads and Mastodon is coming this summer https://www.platformer.news/mastodon-interview-eugen-rochko-meta-bluesky-threads-federation/

In 2016 Trump invited Russia to hack his opponent’s emails. In 2024, he invited Russia to do “whatever they hell they want" in Europe. Trump is a dangerous stooge for Putin. He shouldn’t be let anywhere near the Oval Office again.
Today I discovered that Windows, in the US launches #Edge in the background at startup by default. If you use a different browser like #Vivaldi or #Firefox, disable Edge in "Settings > Apps > Startup" and "Settings > Privacy > Background apps" to speed Windows startup and improve performance in general, especially on old or low end PCs. This behavior reportly does not occur in the EU.

I was browsing a forum about an interest and saw a screenshot of a website with ads.

People please install #Firefox \* + uBlock origin. It's for your mental health. Ads take energy out of you in the form of free cognitive labor. Corporations are making money on your free labor. It results in the alienation of the people.

\* Chrome and chrome based browsers are killing the internet by closing it and are a privacy nightmare. The #Internet has to stay open and with good #privacy.

Rudy, who hosts and maintains the #BlackSky feed wrote a blog post on #BlueSky 's moderation, and how it works! There's also info on how BSky's infrastructure works.
Give it a looksie. https://blog.rudyfraser.com/the-moderation-article/

I feel like on here people like to uhhh hold onto negative hearsay about other platforms/networks and run with it, so…

The Moderation article

From the very beginning, the internet was antiblack.

Something I was hoping for a long time 😁 @[email protected] finally change its CEO, and as they say: "Doubling down on our core products, like Firefox" it seems finally they are going to prioritise Firefox. I can only get better from here.

"Doubling down on our core products, like Firefox"

Thank you. Better late than never.

Edit: I assumed this was the same article as I got from the Mozilla RSS-feed, but it wasn't. The one I cited from is linked in Mozilla's comment.
