@crenfrow @jcoglan I've also taken it up on me to completely eliminate a critical piece. Which one, hell, you'll have to find out and tell me so I can correct it and delete another!
@jcoglan real devs scream at the bot to fix its own damn mistakes!!
So pissed off right now. My friend from Canada has not had their work visa renewed. They have to leave the US. This is asinine.
@aram got mine when I went to get my masters degree and they required it

I've spent a lifetime making myself smaller for everyone.

Making myself the version of me that was most useful and comfortable for everyone around me.

And I *HAVE* to stop before I disappear.

I wrote about learning to TAKE UP SPACE: https://fromemily.com/space-taking-defiance/

Maybe you've made yourself smaller too? Let's TAKE UP SPACE together.

I’ve Spent a Lifetime Making Myself Smaller and I HAVE to Stop Before I Disappear (or “How Buying an Oversized ‘Everyday’ Bag Was a Revolutionary Act of Space-Taking Defiance”)

I'm learning I'm allowed to take up space. (And doing it with one BIG-ASS-BAG.)

Nearly 1000 Yale faculty so far have signed a letter to the university's administration urging it to stand firm against "extraordinary attacks that threaten the bedrock principles of a democratic society, including rights of free expression, association, and academic freedom". The last of the 6 actions urged in the letter is to "work purposefully and proactively with other colleges and universities in collective defense". https://sites.google.com/view/yalefacultyletter2025/home #HigherEd #USPol
Yale Faculty Letter

April 2025 Dear President McInnis, Provost Strobel, and Members of the Yale Board of Trustees: We stand together at a crossroads. American universities are facing extraordinary attacks that threaten the bedrock principles of a democratic society, including rights of free expression, association,

Good morning. 😴⏰☕

Coffee, anyone? Morning rituals are sacred, and making coffee tops my list right after waking up. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one. It’s a habit, though not necessarily a neurologic one—or maybe it is, now that I’ve looked up the definition! What I meant to say is that it’s not really an addictive habit. If coffee isn’t an option, I just go about my day—albeit stumbling into walls and tripping over dogs. Coffee is supposed to be an eye-opener, and it definitely earns that title, considering I have to open my eyes just enough to ensure the cup’s lip meets my lips. I usually savor my first cup while greeting you with a cheerful “Good morning!” And now? It’s time for round two.

It would be nice if those of us who did learn from history weren't doomed to repeat it along with those who didn't.
