Agreed. I've only read Ego Homini Lupus from #GretchenFelkerMartin before but it showed a lot of world-building, the character's headspace, and general #horror grossness from the work of skinning wolves. It had so much physicality and detail that it was exhausting to read but also makes you realize how strangely unphysical we are in a huge subset of the modern world and we're freaks in our own way.
It's nearly 2023 and I decided to create a low effort wordpress #bookblog because old Mastodon posts are next to impossible to find.
So here's me shilling an extremely horny short story anthology. The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. Creepy takes on folk tales with gothic vibes to the max.

I've been #reading an #Indian #dystopian book and so far it's been a hundred pages of a married woman escaping Mumbai's Hindu nationalist hords while reminiscing about her missing husband. A hundred pages of detailed sexual frustration because dude wouldn't put out for over the first year of their marriage.
I have no idea why I'm reading it but I still am. I buy books impulsively and so here I lie in this bed of pages.

#music Late Nov was like the only time #metal showed up on my #lastfm tags because I was getting acquainted with Lacuna Coil's set list.
Otherwise it's usually the sea of my #kpop bullshit with #darkwave and #postpunk peaking through.
I fell hard into kpop during the pandemic but the novelty is starting to wear off and I'm STILL SALTY that despite the fact that kpop acts actually do tours in Manila I can't fucking get tickets and I was just mad lucky for GIdle. Pop has a downside!
