Another example of media failure.

This extremely wealthy woman was drinking, driving 80mph in her Mercedes, and killed two young boys w/her car in front of their families—but media portrays her as the victim.

This is how media normalizes white supremacy. Unacceptable.

I didn’t realize that the Dutch fought for their bike lanes. There’s a lot of history within this that I’m currently naive about but excited to learn!

Here’s the article I’m starting with — How the Dutch got Their Cycle Paths: https://www.pps.org/article/how-the-dutch-got-their-cycle-paths

'How the Dutch Got Their Cycle Paths'

The extensive cycling infrastructure of the Netherlands didn't happen by magic. It was the result of a lot of hard work, including massive street protests and very deliberate political decision-making.

People grumbling that #Mastodon is slow at the moment... You just turned up with 1 million people in a tiny, rural village and you're complaining there's a queue to get into the only tearoom, which is run by gay pensioners Babs & Maureen as a retirement hobby on Mons-Weds. Relax!

I love the power of water. There was a lot going on in the bay today 😁
Today's dog walk was at 50% dry. As an appeasement we got a rainbow when we reached home. You can still see the rain coming down there.

It was really nice to contribute to this image of the Cone Nebula that ESO just released to mark 60 years of collaboration. It's one of the many things I love about my current job here: working with our amazing visual team to deliver cool images for you to enjoy.

What you see here is a pillar of dust and gas sculpted by the intense radiation of stars further up, outside of the field of view.
