Finished Ryu Murakami’s In the Miso Soup last night. Holy moly! As a film buff, sometimes I imagine what a book might best adapt like while I read it. This one played out in my mind’s eye like Nicholas Winding Refn does love-letter-to-Japan Lost In Translation as NC-17 day-glo noir with murder. #horror #fiction #books #noir #mystery #literature #Japan

So, from what I can tell in my time there so far, #Threads is just Mastodon with much less functionality (even the app is a carbon copy of Mastodon official), a useless search function that only searches usernames, corporate gatekeepers, an algorithm that boosts who they choose to curate into a nonlinear timeline that rarely shows people you actually follow (doubly problematic without a proper search function), and quote resharing.
