We visited the Wonky Donkey farm for unwanted, disabled and abused animals this afternoon. It has a little cafe to make money to help run the farm and a selection of dogs, miniature ponies, sheep, goats, donkeys, kune knue pigs, alpacas and 15 cats. Max and Alice got to pet a tiny doggie called Gary and hug a physically disabled alpaca called Indy who lost the use of his legs due to malnutrition after being horribly neglected. If you buy a cake you get to see and pet the animals for free. It’s a Community Interest Company and we thought they are doing fantastic work, so we all made donations.

Edit: if you’re visiting Pembrokeshire or Carmarthenshire and you want to visit the Wonky Donkeys and their pals, you can find all the info here https://llwyngwyddelfarm.com/

At this time of the year the 'Laburnum Tunnel' at Seaton Delaval Hall, Northumberland is probably reason in itself to pay a visit.
The stunning feature can be found in the grounds of the National Trust Grade I listed country house, which is situated near the coast, not far from Whitley Bay.

A pleasure to drive past Kielder Water today
Full moon rising over a stand of pine trees on Ilkley Moor as we went to bed last night.
A moment in an “interesting” day yesterday. I am grateful for the beauty around me. You’ll have to imagine the birdsong #Northumberland

On June 2, 1863, 160 years ago today, Harriet Tubman commanded 300 Black soldiers in the audacious Raid on Combahee Ferry. With the Union Army backing her up, The General, as she was called, liberated 800 people, destroyed supplies, and struck a blow against the Confederacy. She became the FIRST woman in U.S. history to plan and execute an armed expedition, inspiring joy and freedom among over 800 enslaved people.

Supporting local enterprise on my day off. Thank you #FirstAndLastBrewery #Bellingham #Northumberland

I love it here in the fediverse. Sometimes it's a bit quiet, others it's popping off. On the whole everyone is cool as fuck, in their own way, which is the only way, and the best way. It's not Instagram thank fuck. Monocultural, aspirational, selfieland is not for me

I have a 'follow the bouncing ball' philosophy to life, go with random leads and you discover good things and people which lead to more good things. It's served me well so far and here is a good place for it. Love to you all ♥️

The more you start looking, the more you see, and now I'm seeing lichen everywhere.

I thought the colours of these lichens against the so-red-its-yelling-at-you brick were pretty awesome.
