Murals in Chile of Negro Matapacos ('Black Cop-Killer') a famous street dog in Santiago, known for being at every protest, defying tear gas and water cannons, and fiercely hating the police.
Since his passing on 26 August 2017 he has become a symbol of protests and resistance, and is affectionately know as the patron saint of protests and street dogs.
I firmly believe that large vehicles will be powered by overhead lines and be equipped with batteries with capacity enough to get them between the areas with overhead lines and smaller streets and neighbourhoods/industries for deliveries and such.
The only thing I am not sure of is how to handle garbage and recycling collection on smaller residential streets. Possibly dedicated HGV infrastructure for these types of services.
"24% of Downtown Providence Is Parking — Is that Good or Bad"
@Bman called them "Parking craters" and I see what he means. How are you supposed to have places people want to GO when scorched earth makes it so people can't get there?

My takeaway:
We should shut down Hope Street to #cars and have a block party there every day - or at least every week.
By removing cars from streets, you make way for so much cool shit that you can't do with them there. But mostly, you make way for joy.
And that's the future that we urbanists want.

As Upton Sinclair said, "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!"
Don't turn to "traffic researchers" for the solutions to our transit and climate problems.
It's like asking Monsanto how to effectively grow food. What do you think they're going to say?
Be careful how you frame the question. The question is not "how do we move cars more efficiently?" it's "how do we move people more efficiently?"
CNN: “Magnets of traffic and congestion, drive-thrus discourage walking, public transit use and visits to neighboring businesses. They also lead to accidents with #pedestrians, #cyclists and other cars, and contradict the environmental and livability goals of many communities.”
