Stattdessen wird mit „Technologieoffenheit“ aber die reine Hoffnung auf noch nicht einsatzreife Verfahren instrumentalisiert, um alten Businessmodellen Zeit zu verschaffen – das Gegenteil von Innovation.

Back in 2018, I told the Coal Commission that coal emissions cannot extend to beyond 2030 unless very deep cuts are made fast (which they weren't). And that was not even for 1.5C but for <2C, and with data from 2017: six high emission years have since passed, using up a lot of the CO2 budget. Here's original material I showed back then. I spoke as an expert for the gvmt's Council on the Environment SRU. The commission ignored this expert advice. It did not fit the "compromise" 2038.

- Diese zusätzliche Braunkohle - wird nicht "dringend gebraucht"
- was dringend gebraucht wird: Windräder. PV. Wärmepumpen. E-Traktion. Verkehrswende.
- Die Alternative lautet nicht "Atom" oder "Kohle". In einer nachhaltigen E-Wirtschaft brauchen wir beides nicht. IEA u.a. zeigen das detailliert.

We find that households and commerce have consistently saved gas by changing their behavior since September 2022. Except for the Christmas week it seems - maybe people wanted to have it as cosy as usual during these days? 🎄 Great work by @aroth 👏
