The CHI 2025 Late-Breaking Work (LBW) Co-chairs invite you to volunteer as an Associate Chair (AC) for the CHI 2023 (LBW) Program Committee! Please use the form below to provide details about yourself that may help us understand your potential to serve as an AC for the CHI 2025 LBW track. LBW Program Committee (PC) members oversee around 8-10 LBW submissions through a peer review process over January and February 2025. The process for PC members will begin around 19 January (submission deadline), and finish on 20 February. We call our PC members "ACs", which stands for associate chairs. For each overseen submission, the selected LBW ACs will (1) recruit 2 external reviewers who each provide a light review, (2) write their own review, and 3) write a meta-review summarizing their recommendation for acceptance or rejection. Process: Overall, this process is lighter than CHI's main paper track, but follows many of its core tenets (e.g., external reviews, discussions on PCS, meta reviews). Importantly, LBW submissions are limited to 8 pages excluding references, so overall much shorter than the main paper track—there is also no rebuttal or multiple rounds of reviews, making the process lighter for the ACs . Moreover, we consider that not only is the LBW an excellent track for our community to show new work at CHI, but it is also an important step to educate new ACs in the SIGCHI community that will might, one day, proceed onto the main paper track. So there's many great reasons to join us as a AC! For more details, please see https://chi2025.acm.org/for-authors/late-breaking-work/ How to join: (1) you will need to have a user account on PCS: https://new.precisionconference.com/ (if you have multiple accounts, merge them now); (2) fill out the form below. We hope to recruit volunteers from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds, so please share this broadly! More details about CHI 2025 LBW papers you are also welcome to contact the LBW chairs (Carla Griggio, Xinning Gui, Hideaki Kuzuoka, and Pedro Lopes) at lbw@chi2025.acm.org. This form collects your responses through Koji Yatani's (Technical Program co-chair of CHI) Google Drive associated with The University of Tokyo.

For #chi2026 , the aim is to reduce the number of types of submissions and rename them to be more self-explanatory to simplify the conference program. We have explained the changes and historical background for the restructuring in detail. 2026 will be adding more guidance for authors and session organizers later.
CHI runs because of its volunteers. Chairs fill roles from papers to demos and from accessibility to family, it’s a massive community led operation. We invite you to join us!

As the conference has been growing, the CHI Steering Committee (with input from many other CHI futures committees and a symposium that has been run over the years) put forth a new format for the conference (see: https://chi.acm.org/new-chi-format-to-launch-at-chi-2026/).
In short summary, technical program submissions will fall into six submission areas:
Papers
Panels
Meet up
Posters
Workshops
Interactive demos
