We should be as kind to our child-selves as we would be to any child who is creative and earnest and brave enough to make something up and even show it to other people to be judged! I remember when Terminator 2 came out, thinking CGI was going to change filmmaking in every conceivable way and time has proved that to be true. Now I don't see it as the improvement I thought it would be then, since decent practical effects look better than cheap and rushed CGI any day

As an experiment, I used a homemade medium that included plenty of poppyseed oil, for its non-yellowing properties. It's also an extremely slow drier--it must have taken four weeks for the painting to dry to the touch. 3/3
