I - Intro The first time I successfully installed Linux, I remember thinking “What’s that GRUB thing that always shows up?” Though… the most common thing was reading error messages because I kept breaking system stuff =) I learned a lot trying the famous “dual boot.” Of course, my first attempt failed because… yes, you guessed it: I installed Linux first, then Windows. It’s technically possible to configure Windows bootloader to read Linux partitions, though it’s extremely complex and error-prone.

I - Intro Continuing from the previous post about GNU/Linux system startup, this time I’ll tell you about services. How many times did I struggle with the “print spooler” service in Windows! If you worked in IT starting in Help Desk, Service Desk, or similar positions in corporate environments… you’ve suffered through it too -_- As for Linux… well, the concept is similar but of course it has its differences.

I - Intro La primera vez que instalĂ© con Ă©xito Linux, recuerdo pensar “¿QuĂ© es ese GRUB que sale siempre?” Aunque…lo más comĂşn era leer mensajes de error porque rompĂa cosas del sistema =) AprendĂ mucho probando el famoso “dual boot”. Por supuesto que el primer intento fue fallido porque…sĂ, adivinaron: instalĂ© primero Linux y luego Windows. TĂ©cnicamente es posible configurar el bootloader de Windows para que sea compatible y lea la particiĂłn de Linux, pero extremadamente complejo y propenso a errores.

Uso OsmAnd para registrar el recorrido, guardar la traza y exportarla, es open source aunque tiene acceso pago y ciertas limitaciones, esa membresia paga tiene cosas que no son full open source, tengo entendido.
También uso Organic Maps que permite grabar y exportar también el recorrido, pero lo malo es que no te muestra la distancia realizada hasta que finalices la grabación, entonces no sabés cuánto estás corriendo -_-
