Six years ago I begged journalists to "stop being loudspeakers for liars" -- and I have to admit that my entreaties fell on deaf ears.

Last week's lie-filled "press conference" at Trump's home was a powerful demonstration of why they should at least try. But they've made it clear that they will never even acknowledge this fundamental flaw in what they do, much less do anything to repair the ongoing damage.

#Fascism "works" in that it expands outwards and consumes. But it doesn't create, it only destroys. Social bonds, community peace, govt integrity... all the way up to genocide.

It is essentially parasitism on civilization.

It always leaves in its wake the seeds of its own downfall, in myriad ways large and small. This aids us in our job: hold it in check and defeat it.

Bad news: I forgot to put the recycling bins out this week.

Good news: It is perfectly legal to hand out empty bottles and cans to trick or treaters.
