My first time at Open Repositories was lovely. My talk "Integrating Digital Repositories and Learning Management Systems Using EduLink" seemed to go really well. I have *so* many threads I need to pull on! #openrepos2025
I have a new publication: Long-term effects of group selection, single-tree selection, and clearcutting on individual-tree and stand volume growth in northern hardwoods of the Great Lakes region (https://doi.org/10.1093/forestry/cpae060) in Forestry (https://academic.oup.com/forestry). Exciting!
Fantastic first day at the 2024 #ATEPI conference!
(I'm considering it a victory that there's *only* about half a dozen things I wish I'd included or been clearer about in the lightning talk.)
Code4Lib 2024 last week was *amazing*. I was really happy with how my talk on Batch Editing went (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0fG0j949GM&list=PLw-ls5JXzeNYT9Y3JZGjl7EFy7vOeXpk-&index=2&t=2222s). I also did a lightning talk on some parallels I see between chess computers and AI in libraries that turned out pretty well (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npq8Qm1oeds&list=PLw-ls5JXzeNYT9Y3JZGjl7EFy7vOeXpk-&index=5&t=1558s). #code4lib #c4l24
@protagokrates Echoing others, I've also had great experiences with the Metro, the Eco, and the Safari. For general pen recommendations, I really like Brad Dowdy's Top 5 list at https://www.penaddict.com/top-5-pens/. For finding reviews, http://pennaquod.net/ is pretty handy.

@deathmlem Lektor (https://www.getlektor.com/) may be worth a look. It is a static site generator that provides a CMS type interface. The FreeBSD port for it is www/py-lektor.

@jacobmealey It's not a git frontend, but this is a pretty good description of the Fossil VCS (https://www2.fossil-scm.org/).

I mostly read Mastodon in #weechat via #bitlbee with bitlbee-mastodon (IRC truly has a gravitational pull for me). TIL about `/buffer set short_name X`. It's so nice! I love how much cleaner it makes the merged buffer where my timelines live.
@mhucka Not sure how widely it's known, so I'll just mention that the "chore", "bug", "doc", etc, *might* be drawn from the "Conventional Commits" spec at https://www.conventionalcommits.org. The spec goes on to have a lot of other feelings about commit messages. I just learned about it recently myself, and am still mulling over how much (if any) of it to bring into my own practice and projects.
