@kottke How can you post this and use their term "backing up" without offering any counterpoint? It's obviously theft and surely massive lawsuits are coming their way.
@JPZ @davemark I had that problem too so I use a shortcut to set a random wallpaper, triggered every hour.
@christianselig I’d like to see Apple buy a game porting company. Their only mission would be to make deals with game studios to port their existing games to the Mac. And in turn Apple takes what they learn and incorporates it into macOS to make porting easier.
@gruber @Taguntumi Isn’t it convenient that all the “mistakes” Apple prevents people from making are installing software from Apple competitors? This is arrogance and anti-competitive behavior being marketed (by you and Apple) as paternalistic goodness. I’m not going to use Chrome but let the people decide if Safari is better than Chrome on iOS, and you can continue writing hundreds of articles about why Chrome sucks.
@matthewcassinelli You could use a list in Letterboxd. Movies in lists can be filtered by availability for purchase.

@daringfireball I wonder what a beautifully worn synthetic case would look like, or if any sign of wear on a synthetic will be decried? From a distance Joanna Stern's case looks like the lovely wear pattern that would be cherished on a leather case.
The Mindfulness app on #Apple #VisionPro is executed so well, it’s my favorite AVP app. The color palettes and lighting, and their subtle shifting, give an iridescence to the shapes. The breathing animation is perfect. I love the entrance into and exit from full immersiveness. I look forward to other apps in this space done as well as Apple’s. It would be really cool to see a behind the scenes making of the app and its evolution to final version.
