"This is not a cultural war that you can win just by doing fucking podcasts. You have to still have a solid defense mechanism at the top, that aligns with the interests of [the base]. If the Democratic party is running around being like, ‘everything is fine actually, just vote for us, we've got to defend the institutions,’ while everyone is like, ‘I don't give a fuck about the institutions’… You can't reach them." https://www.usermag.co/p/why-democrats-wont-build-their-own

The Mindfulness app on #Apple #VisionPro is executed so well, it’s my favorite AVP app. The color palettes and lighting, and their subtle shifting, give an iridescence to the shapes. The breathing animation is perfect. I love the entrance into and exit from full immersiveness. I look forward to other apps in this space done as well as Apple’s. It would be really cool to see a behind the scenes making of the app and its evolution to final version.
@technicat the original Mac UI devs noticed and solved so many problems in *1986* that more recent Web 2.0+ frontend devs just ignore -- like this one, *drag delay* -- solving the problem that when the user moves their cursor towards an item on a popup menu, the mouse may drift outside the lines momentarily *en route*, so you should make sure not to close the menu prematurely; these days lots of popup menus instantly pop closed if you stray outside their bounds #UI #UX
#macOS 14.3, you still can't Shift+click on an app in the dock to have it open in the current window group when using Stage Manager.

The new Action button shortcuts for @halide are genius and I keep thinking that more developers should now offer shortcuts with contextual actions for when their app is active.
