So #Mastodon lacks a recommendation engine. This means that the content we see is not focussed on engagement or rage farming (a good thing) but it also means almost everything we see is from our own personal echo chamber. This can be comforting, and much more “friendly feeling”, but it also runs the risk of making us massively complacent. Not everyone thinks the way we do, and pretending they do (by not seeing anything to the contrary) is dangerous in the extreme #sundaythoughts
