It's that time of year when I open my weather app every day hoping to see a high below 90 in the future. Fall is the season of disappointment in Texas.
@nik I live in fear of this. I'm 38 and have never been stung by anything. I assume when it finally happens I'll just die. I'm glad you didn't, though, and as a bonus you get to not be scared of it anymore! Solid W right there.
Texas has 4 seasons – summer summer-er, summer-est and fall. It's currently summer-er, but normally it would be summer-est by now. Other half noted today that we seem to be missing out on summer-est this year. It's been under 100F out. There has been rain. Maybe we'll escape the heat hell for once. Looked at the weather just now and it's meant to hit 103 this weekend. He clearly jinxed it.
@zak @jack I think this is part of why Kia and Hyundai are suddenly more popular. They used to be these low status budget cars but they're making nice electric sedans and people are here for that.
@mangochutney @zak I mean, the Prius definitely fails that visibility test (especially for short people like myself), but it's maneuverable, easy to drive, gets great mileage, and doesn't have anything trying to track me in it. It's like the landline phone of cars – does its thing without trying to be something it isn't. I love it.
@zak One of the things I dread the most is the day our 2011 Prius dies. There is nothing I want less than a new car.
State of the web: if you search for "annal", the top image results are mostly butt-related.
I'm pretty sure Prime Video has straight up removed the continue watching section from the Android app. Whoever made that design choice needs to go straight to jail.
So we got a motion activated water fountain and the kittens are convinced it's actual magic. All of them have put their feet in it. Repeatedly.
When British Airways' site loads, it first shows a log in button that updates to log out when it gets its shit together. Obviously this always happens after I click the log in button since I want to log in which, of course, logs me out. The internet was a mistake and I hate it here.
