Well, winter has arrived in #Winnipeg. It was an awfully snowy walk home from work tonight! Kind of nice to get a coating of snow, in a weird way.

weatherinthepegThe Province of Manitoba has closed Highway 1 (the Trans-Canada) from Falcon Lake to the Ontario border as well as Highway 12 from the U.S. border north to Steinbach. Expect to see deteriorating travel conditions on area highways, particularly south and east of Winnipeg, through the evening. #MBstorm
After a prolonged trek northwards from the US border, the snow is finally beginning to push west-northwest into #winnipeg. Could see periods of fairly heavy snow through the evening hours before it starts to taper off overnight.
Areas of yellow on the imagery are bands of heavier snow while the blues are light to moderate snow. #MBstorm
@mookie @donmelton That's great to hear. I've seen a few people say that it doesn't really even need to be a Star Wars property...which is maybe a good thing? What does it say when what seems to be such a universally acclaimed series doesn't really need its IP (for lack of a better term) for its success?
I kind of hope it means that people are starting to really want *good* writing and shows, and maybe are getting tired of the mega-franchise factory line.
@donmelton yeah, I heard that the story structure is done in 3 episode chunks. I’ll have to add it to my list for after I catch up on Ted Lasso!
@donmelton As someone who has no particular interest in Star Wars per say -- I've seen the movies and they're alright! -- should I check out Andor? It seems like the show is good enough that it might reach well outside the SW fan base?
A little while ago I decided to head back to the first #boardgame I bought back in 2018 and spent an evening playing Fallout: The Board Game (with the New California and Atomic Bonds expansions).
In addition to being a bit of a warm blanket game (it kickstarted a hobby that was huge for my mental health through the beginning of the pandemic), the expansions brought it to a place where it's a solidly good and fun game that nails the #Fallout theme to a tee.
