Finally got a chance to watch this week's episode of Andor. Had to stay up past midnight to do it. Difficult for an old codger like me. But, daaayuum! Totally worth it.

I have no idea how they keep making each episode better than the last one either.

Anyway, goodnight, lovely Mastodonians (sic). I will most certainly see you tomorrow. Or technically later this morning. Uhhhh... you know what I mean.

Stay awesome and keep posting. I gotta have something to read during breakfast.

@donmelton As someone who has no particular interest in Star Wars per say -- I've seen the movies and they're alright! -- should I check out Andor? It seems like the show is good enough that it might reach well outside the SW fan base?

@buffaloseven Yes! You should watch Andor! You don't even need to know anything _about_ Star Wars to enjoy it. And it's not about rocket ship battles or space wizards, either. It is something delightfully different.

Also, don't give up on it if you only watch the first episode or two and it seems oddly sloooow moving. I can guarantee you'll be hooked by the end of the third episode. Seriously.

@donmelton yeah, I heard that the story structure is done in 3 episode chunks. I’ll have to add it to my list for after I catch up on Ted Lasso!
I really felt like the first two episodes should have been one long intro movie to the series. It really felt like it was one long movie before Disney asked them to split it in two.

In total agreement though, no Star Wars knowledge necessary.

@mookie @donmelton That's great to hear. I've seen a few people say that it doesn't really even need to be a Star Wars property...which is maybe a good thing? What does it say when what seems to be such a universally acclaimed series doesn't really need its IP (for lack of a better term) for its success?

I kind of hope it means that people are starting to really want *good* writing and shows, and maybe are getting tired of the mega-franchise factory line.

I think the best Star Wars is the Star Wars where the stories are ground level, seeing what things are like in the Star Wars universe outside of: Jedi's and Skywalkers.

Andor does a really great job at this through its storytelling. If you have Disney+, worth watching is Rebels too -- yes, there are Jedi's in there, but for the most part it is about what life for a normal planetary citizen is like in the Star Wars universe.

Rogue One is great because of this too.
Also, sorry, I'm a Star Wars nerd. 😜
