yes! my spin on that would be to have weights (like percentage) from each tag in my feed, or the ability to turn on/off visibility for each tag at will.

basically follow all the hashtags and people you find potentially interesting and you'll be fine. Also see other apps like metatext if you are on ios or fedilab / tusky if on Android andd follow #feditips as well...
