#actuallyautistic and #adhd father of amazing #actuallyautistic and #adhd son, husband of fantastic #adhd wife.
@stephen My thinking was that while the kids in his class at school are friendly enough to him, my son doesn't have a handle on what's expected of social interactions, so talks loud and over other people, common stuff. My hope would be that other ND kids wouldn't find that to be a negative. They wouldn't judge him for that, because they do the same thing.
@anarchosynthism that’s fair. Part of the reason I wonder about autism specific groups is because even with different interests they would presumably speak more alike: all of the ways that NT kids are turned off by the way we speak hopefully wouldn’t be an issue to them. But we’re also looking for more interest-related groups, but we live in a reasonably small town, which limits our options that don’t involve a big drive.
Question for folks with #autistic or #adhd kids: do you get your child involved with social activities specifically for #neurodivegent kids? My 9-year old is struggling with the kind of social isolation I also dealt with, and I’m looking at options.
These kinds of #ads — where you scroll and really a fixed position banner ad visually behind the content you’re reading — should be illegal, and both the clients who request them and the devs who build them should be launched into the Sun.
@thurrott ohhhh, that makes sense
@thurrott slightly confused: the title says they lost 4 million subscribers, but the article, after mentioning they lost most of the subscribers from India, goes on to talk about subscriber *growth*?
@jukkan they’d probably ask my descendants.
It was my birthday yesterday, and according to this bike seat company I’m now in the age bracket that ends at 60!
@wolfger yes, but the joke wouldn’t have been funnier that way.
Regardless of capabilities and licensing etc. I find the shift from engineering to magic that comes with the belief in LLMs deeply troubling. Our infrastructures are badly maintained as is, this won't improve the situation.
